All the birdhouses and feeders I build are fully functional, with proper drainage, ventilation, easy clean outs, and with species specific entrance holes. There is no paint on the inside of the houses, and they are tested outside. (You should see my yard!) Most of the houses are about 8 inches tall, 5 1/2 inches wide, and 6 inches deep. They vary a little with different styles. Each house or feeder comes with hanging and cleaning directions. They can be either hung from a hook or post/pole mounted. 

I build all these houses in Atlanta, Georgia, out of either white southern pine or local cedar. All the paints used are non-toxic outdoor latex paints - so they hold up well outside. With proper care these houses should last 3 to 5 years outside.
